Miguel Nunes reinforces his leadership at the end of section 1

  Miguel Nunes keeps his leadership position at the Rally Vinho da Madeira. The Skoda Fabia Evo driver won all the Special Stages that composed section 1, and has a 7.6 seconds advantage over his competitors. Pedro Paixão is holding on to the good rhythm with which he raced in the inaugural Special Stages, and is also holding strongly to his second place position. In third place is now Alexandre Camacho, who, little by little, is adjusting to his Citroën C3 R5 and has managed to overtake José Maria Lopez. The Madeiran driver has, nonetheless, also lost some ground to Bruno Magalhães, positioned fourth and, clearly, the best amongst those competing for the national championship. "Pepe" Lopez complained about his vehicle's tunning, as well as about some minor precisions regarding his guidance notes, and is now positioned fifth, ahead of João Silva, who, slowly, has been adapting better to the vehicle he is debuting in this competition.  Many of those who traditionally entertain the followers of the Portuguese Rally Championship are coming behind, with José Pedro Fontes and Armindo Araújo currently fighting for the sixth position, separated by 4.5 seconds from each other. Further back are Ricardo Teodósio and Pedro Meireles, fighting for the last places of the plot of the top ten classified. At eleventh place, Filipe Freitas is now the best amongst those driving RGT.

  At 15. th in absolute terms, Vítor Sá, in a Citroën, is the best amongst all competitors in front wheel drive vehicles, and holds an advantage of 7.7 seconds over Rui Jorge Fernandes, who is driving a Renault Clio R3T. Third in this "category", Pedro Almeida, in a Peugeot 208 Rally 4, is the best in RC4. In second place of the same group is João Ferreira 19 seconds behind the lead. Bruno Coelho leads amongst the competitors racing in the single-brand competition, with the Toyota Yaris.

Miguel Nunes, who won both Special Stages, is currently leading the Rally Vinho da Madeira after racing the first two Special Stages, of which some competitors complained due to the slippery and somewhat wet track. In second place is another Madeiran driver, Pedro Paixão, 3.2 seconds behind the leader. José Maria Lopez was second best at the Golf Court, but his performance fell a little at Palheiro Ferreiro, and so, he is now four seconds behind the lead. Alexandre Camacho complained of his vehicle's tunning, and, even though he improved in PE 2, he stands in fourth place at 4.3 seconds behind the lead. The best CPR driver is currently Bruno Magalhães, fifth, who is catching up to Nunes by 7.3 seconds. João Silva lamented some lack of rhythm and in the adaptation to his vehicle and is now the sixth at 9.3 seconds behind the leader. Closing the top ten are three of the protagonists of the national championship, José Pedro Fontes, Armindo Araújo, Ricardo Teodósio and Pedro Meireles. Standing at the 11. th position, Gil Freitas is the best amongst the RGT drivers.
